MARUTI SUZUKI INDIA LIMITED
We have been associated with Maruti Suzuki India Limited since 1984, almost since its inception. When the organization began contemplating movement of vehicles by Rail. Initially, we were power driving the vehicles in small quantities to the New Delhi Railway Station and dispatching them in VPU's and as the volume increased, full rake movement was organized by us in VPUs and BFRs (open wagons).
We continued to power drive the vehicles from the factory to Delhi Cantt for full rake loading till 1985, when Trailers were introduced for transporting the vehicles to the Rail Head. In 1991, the concept the converting passenger coaches into "car carriers" was put forward by us to the Railways and the conversion of these coaches was also monitored by us. Maruti as well as other automobile manufacturers are extensively using these NMG coaches. We are dispatching a majority of the export vehicles plus some domestic vehicles through the Railways since 1984.
In January 1997 4400 vehicles were dispatched by Rail mode in the NMG coaches. Ocpl has transported almost one million vehicles using various wagons including containers through the railways.
Transportation of Maruti Vehicles by Road: We have been transporting Maruti Vehicles by road to different sectors of the Country since 1984. In the past, we have transported vehicles from the MSIL to the Rail Head and from the Rail Head to the Nhava Sheva Port. We also provide secondary transport in the states of Kerala and Chennai. We are also moving around 3000 to 4000 Maruti vehicles per month from the Gurgaon factory to the Manesar factory (Internal Movement) and export vehicles on behalf of Adani Logistics to Patli Container Depot. Recently we started the movement of Export vehicles by Containers from Rewari to the Nhava Sheva Port through the Concor.
The overall condition of new vehicles delivered by our organization is far superior than other transporters as the transit damages are negligible. We are regularly in touch with the Indian Railways for following up the commissioning of the railway siding at MSIL plant at Manesar and also, for the development of specially designed wagons (rakes) for the transport of MSIL finished vehicles. In addition, OCPL has played a modest role in getting statutory permissions for plying the Auto wagon Rake on the Mundra Route as well as other routes.
INDIAN RAILWAYS
we have modestly assisted MSIL and the Indian Railways in Successfully incorporating India first private owned Flexi deck auto-wagon rake (BCACBM). This rake is a high-capacity railway wagon, it brings the advantages of higher capacity, flexibility & faster speed
The Flexi deck rake has 20% additional capacity. Along with features such as height adjustable middle-deck, which makes it highly flexible and can transport vehicles of multiple dimensions. The new rake can move at speed of up to 95 kph as compared to 65 kph of the existing rakes, allowing for a shorter transit time.
